This song relates the story of the Cornish rebellion of 1497, predicated by Henry VII punative taxes and suspension of the rule and independence of the stannaries, breaking King Edwards Ist 's pledge to the mining industry. It was inspired by visiting the statue of Thomas Flamank and Michael Joseph An Gof in the town of St Keverne and the abandoned coastal mine shafts which stand like ancient ruined temples, remnants of a long lost religion.
